This web page provides information on the basic domestic violence training available through UDVC. Two types of training currently exist. They are web-based and live basic training, which together meet the minimum of 24 hours of pre-service domestic violence training required for and individual to conduct domestic violence treatment in a licensed outpatient treatment facility. UDVC does not license individuals or agencies to provide domestic violence treatment, but does offer certificates of completion with CEU's (continueing education units) available for successfully completing domestic violence training. Together with the CEU hours available for completion of the web-based training, DV professionals can fulfill their 24 hours of pre-service training required by the Department of Licensing to conduct domestic violence treatment in a licensed facility.

Web-based Basic Domestic Violence Training
Course Cost and Certification | Minimum Technical Requirements | Course Registration
UDVC offers a four-hour web-based training course titled “The Basics of Domestic Violence,” which is designed to explore the complex issue of domestic violence as it affects women, men, and children. Participants learn about power and control in relationships, the cycle of violence, barriers to leaving, and working with victims from diverse populations. This training is NASW approved for four (4) CEU hours.
Course Cost and Certifecate of completion
This course is free to all participants. However, if you need a certificate of completion once you have finished the four-hour course, one is available for $20. For more information, contact Katie Sutton at ksutton@udvc.org or click here.
Minimum Technical Requirements
Before you begin the course, check your computer to ensure it meets the minimum technical requirements to run it error-free.
Access will be available to learners using computers with these minimum specifications:
§ 256 colors
§ 800 x 600 resolution
§ Internet Explorer 6.0, Safari 1.2 (for Mac users)
§ Windows Media Player 7.0 (to view video components)

To register for the course and log on
- Open www.udvctraining.org in your browser.
- Initiate your registration for the course by clicking “Register.”
- Provide your first and last name as well as your email address and other information in the fields provided.
- Choose your job title/agency and county from the drop-down menus.
